클라우스 필립 Klaus Filip

1963년생. 컴퓨터음악, 프로그래밍, 작곡 연주자/작곡가/프로그래머인 클라우스 필립은 1993년경에 랩탑으로 무대에서 연주한 최초의 비엔나 음악가일 것이다. 비엔나 음악예술대학교에서 음악학과 전자 음향학을 전공했다. 최근 작업에선 사인파를 사용하여 미세하고 역동적인 소리를 폭넓은 동적 범위 내에서 표현하는데 초점을 두고있다. 사운드 아티스트로서는 소리와 빛에 대해 연구하고 있다. 필립은 모듈 네트워킹 콜렉션인 ppooll(이전의 lloopp) 이라는 소프트웨어를 운영하고 있고 이 프리웨어는 현재 전 세계의 즉흥 연주가들에 의해 널리 사용되고 있다. 현재 비엔나 응용예술대학 교수직을 맡고 있으며 고집적으로 컴퓨터를 악기로 사용, 연구 중

Klaus Filip is a performer/composer/programmer and is maybe the first viennese musician, who used the laptop on stage at around 1993. Study of Musicology and Elektroacoustics (ELAK) at Wofgang Musil at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. The main focus of his current work is sinewaves, whose subtle and adducent sounds are used in a wide dynamic range.

As a sound artist he searches to cross sound and light. Klaus Filip runs a software project called ppooll (formerly known as lloopp) that is a networking collection of a variety of modules. This freeware is widely used by improvising musicians all over the world. Teaching position at the university of applied arts, vienna. Steady dispute with the computer as a musical instrument.

12 독 사이클(12 dog cycle)은 앨리스 후이-솅 창(대만)과 나이젤 브라운(호주)이 지난 10년간 함께 진행해온 협업 프로젝트이다. 그들은 소리를 통해 주변의 공간과 환경을 경험하고자 한다. 앨리스는 색다른 발성법으로 관객과 친밀한 관계를 형성하며 공간이 가진 음향적 성질에 주목한다. 나이젤은 피아노 아코디언을 해체/변경시켜 자신만의 독특한 드론 악기를 만들어 사용한다.

또한 그들은 ‘Ting Shuo Hear Say‘라는 실험음악을 기반으로 한 교육, 퍼포먼스 공간을 대만 타이난을 설립해 운영해 오고 있다.

12 dog cycle is a collaboration that has been developed over the past decade by Alice Hui-Sheng Chang (Taiwan) and Nigel Brown (Australia). In their performance practice they use sound to explore our experience of the space and environment around us. Alice uses her voice in unconventional ways to create an intimate relationship with an audience and draw attention to the acoustic properties of a space. Nigel has deconstructed a piano accordion to create a unique drone instrument.

They also run ‘Ting Shuo Hear Say‘ in Tainan, Taiwan, a space dedicated to experimental music promotion through education and collaborative performances.

크리스티안 알베르 Cristián Alvear

실험 음악과 현대 음악 공연, 초연 및 녹음에 전념하고 있는 칠레 음악가. 그는 칠레 발디비아에서 실험 음악 페스티벌 Relincha의 큐레이터로 활동하고 있으며 Santiago Astaburuaga, LOTE와 함께 실험 음악 앙상블을 지휘하고 있다. 2000년도부터 칠레를 포함한 세계 곳곳의 페스티벌과 콘서트에서 꾸준히 연주해 왔고 최근 몇 년 동안은 칠레 남부의 농촌 지역에 위치한 로스 라고스에서 교육 공연을 진행하는 데 집중해 왔다. 그의 작품은 Wandelweiser Records (독일), Irritable Hedgehog (미국), Another Timbre (영국), Potlatch (프랑스), 1000Füssler (독일), Caduc (캐나다), B-Boim Records (오스트리아) 등에서 발매되었다.

Chilean musician dedicated to the performance, premiere and recording of experimental and contemporary music. He serves as curator of the experimental music festival Relincha, in Valdivia, Chile and he conducts, along with Santiago Astaburuaga, LOTE, ensemble whose work is to perform experimental scores.

From 2000 he has been constantly performing in Chile as well as international festivals and concert venues. Over recent years he has concentrated its efforts in performing educational concerts in rural areas of the Los Lagos region, in southern Chile.

His work has been published by Edition Wandelweiser Records (Germany), Irritable Hedgehog (US), Another Timbre (UK), Potlatch (france), 1000Füssler (Germany), Caduc (Canada) and B-Boim Records (Austria) among others.

홍철기 Hong Chulki

홍철기는 즉흥음악 연주자이자 노이즈 음악가로 1976년 서울 출생. (카트리지를 제외한) 턴테이블, 믹서 피드백, 노트북 등과함께 다른 전기-전자장치들을 악기로 사용하며, 주요 프로젝트로는 한국 최초의 노이즈 음악 그룹인 astronoise(1997년최준용과 결성)가 있다. 90년대 중 후반에는 인디 음악을 배경으로 활동하였으나 2003년경부터는 관습적인 방식의 음악만들기와 소리 듣기로부터 결별하면서 CD 플레이어나 MD 녹음기, 턴테이블과 같은 일상의 녹음/재생장치를 악기로 활용하는자유즉흥의 영역을 탐구하기 시작하였다. 그 이후로는 실제 음향을 발생시키거나 전기-전자적 소음을 산출하는 대상들을 이용한집단적인 비-관습적 즉흥음악에 대한 관심과 이해를 발전시키는데 전념하고 있다. 사토 유키에 등이 조직한 국내 최초의 프리뮤직콘서트 시리즈인 ‘불가사리’에 참여하였고, 이후에는 류한길이 이끈 자유즉흥음악 연주회인 RELAY의 일원으로 참가하였다.

Hong Chulki was born in 1976, Seoul, South Korea. He is animprovised/noise musician. His selection of instruments includesturntables (without cartridge), mixing board feedback, laptop, andother electronics. One of his central projects is astronoise (thefirst noise act of South Korea in 1997) with Choi Joonyong. Afterseveral years of playing guitar in a few indie rock bands and spendingtime for military service around 2003, he began to deviate from themore conventional way of making/listening music and to explore thearea of free improvisation with everyday record/playback devices suchas CD players, MD recorders and turntables. Since then he hasdeveloped his interest in collective non-idiomatic improvisation withacoustic/electronic noise objects. He participated initially inBulgasari, the first monthly free music concert series in Seoulorganized by Sato Yukie and later co-founded RELAY, the freeimprovisation meeting directed by Ryu Hankil. 

최준용 Choi Joonyong

최준용은 국내 최초의 노이즈 프로젝트인 Astronoise를 홍철기와 1996년에 결성하였다. 즉흥이나 작곡의 방법으로 얻게 되는 연주의 통제와 실패에 관심을 갖고 있으며, 최근에는 열등한 소리와 연주에 대한 퍼포먼스를 진행하고 있다. 녹음물로는 시디플레이어의 오작동을 이용해 만든 DANTHRAX 등의 솔로 음반 등이 있고, 2000년부터 레이블 Balloon & Needle에서 음반 제작과 디자인을 맡고 있다. 그 외에 SklavenTanz 멤버들과 결성한 둠 메탈 밴드인 ‘구토와 눈물(Vomit & Tear)’에서 베이스를 연주하고 있다.

Choi Joonyong is from Seoul, South Korea. He founded Astronoise(the first noise project in Korea) with Hong Chulki in 1996. He is interested in control and failure of playing by improvisation and composition. Recently he is working on performances focusing on inferior sound and playing. He has released six solo albums such as DANTHRAX

which is made with malfunction of CD-player. He produces and designs albums of a label called ‘Balloon & Needle’ since 2000. He also plays bass guitar in a doom metal band ‘Vomit & Tear’ with members of SklavenTanz.
