dotolim<\/strong> is the name of a company founded by Jin Sangtae in October 2006. In November of the same year, during a Japan tour, he performed at Otomo Yoshihide\u2019s (\u5927\u53cb\u826f\u82f1) office-cum-space GRID605. The density and unique strengths of presenting music in a small, intimate venue left a strong impression on him. This experience led to the idea of operating a modest 8-pyeong (approximately 26 m\u00b2) officetel room in Sangsu-dong as a small performance and recording space dedicated to improvised and experimental music. The venue was given the same name as the company: dotolim<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

dotolim held its first concert as a performance space in February 2008. While it was initially planned as a bimonthly series, it has since evolved into a flexible schedule of one to two events each month. The \u201cdotolim concert series<\/strong>,\u201d which focuses on improvised and experimental music and embraces collaborations across various artistic disciplines, has presented more than 220 performances to date.<\/p>\n

dotolim later relocated to a slightly larger space in 2015, continuing its activities there. It moved again in July 2019 to its third location, and in November 2025 it will relocate to Dorim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu<\/strong>. Preparations are currently underway to resume concerts and various events in the new space.<\/p>\n
