A member of the Wandelweiser composers collective, he is also known as an interpreter of experimental piano music.\u2028Boon has premiered over 50 works, many of which written specifically for him. He has performed at venues across Europe, Canada, and the US and recorded numerous albums, solo and otherwise, for labels such as Another Timbre, Edtion Wandelweiser Records and Rhizome.s<\/p>\n<p>He was a guest lecturer at the 13th Wiener Tage f\u00fcr zeitgen\u00f6ssische Klaviermusik hosted by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. A three-concert musical portrait of Dante Boon was presented in 2012 at D\u00fcsseldorf&#8217;s Klangraum. In 2013, he was a special guest at Michael Pisaro&#8217;s Dog Star Orchestra festival of experimental music. In the same year, a retrospective of Boon&#8217;s music was presented at the Los Angeles performance space the wulf. In 2016, Boon was featured as a composer and performer at Quatuor Bozzini&#8217;s Performer&#8217;s Kitchen (Montreal).<br \/>\nBoon&#8217;s CD clarinet (and piano), released in 2016, which features clarinetist J\u00fcrg Frey, was recommended by Andy Hamilton in The Wire&#8217;s Top 10 albums of contemporary music. A graduate of Brooklyn College-Conservatory of Music (CUNY), Kevin later received his M.A. from Dartmouth College. After working briefly at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, Kevin taught computer music at the Seoul Institute of the Arts and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Virginia (Composition &amp; Computer Music).<\/p>\n<p>Kevin has studied composition with Charles Dodge, Curtis Bahn, Noah Creshevsky, Larry Polansky, Jon Appleton, Christian Wolff, Judith Shatin, Ted Coffey, and Matthew Burtner.
