아틸라 파라벨리는 이태리 밀라노 출신의 사운드 아티스트이며 일렉트로-어쿠스틱 음악가이다. 그의 솔로 작품은 Die Schachtel와 Senufo를 통해 발매되었고 Andrea Belfi와 함께 Tumble를, Nicola Ratti와는 Boring Machines라는 듀오 프로젝트들을 진행하고 있으며 사운드 설치작품을 여러 도시 공간에 설치하였다. 그의 작업은 미국, 유럽, 중국에서 선보였으며 2010년에는 베니스 건축 비엔날레에 참가하였다. 2012년에는 Sounds of Europe의 이태리 부분의 큐레이터를 맡기도 하였다. 그는 Aural Tools 프로젝트의 설립자이자 큐레이터로서 음악가들이 사물과 컨셉을 포함한 특정 과정들을 어떻게 다루는가에 대한 기록을 남기는 것을 목적으로 한다. Aural Tools는 일련의 어쿠스틱 장비로서 소리를 CD나 LP가 아닌 다른 방식으로 공간과 청취자 그리고 몸으로 확장시켜주는 장비이다. 또한 그는 2010년부터 The Lift라는 작은 스튜디오를 밀라노에서 운영하며 음악가들과 사운드 연구자들을 초대하여 자신의 작업을 음향적으로 정확한 공간에서 선보이도록 하고 있다.

Attila Faravelli is an italian sound artist and electro-acoustic musician. He lives and works in Milano. His solo music is released by Die Schachtel and Senufo, he’s been collaborating with Andrea Belfi in the duo Tumble (their music also is released on Die Schachtel), he plays with Nicola Ratti (Boring Machines) and builds temporary sound installations in various urban and extra urban areas with the artist Nicola Martini (their sound work is released on the label Presto!?). He presented his work in USA, Europe and China. In 2010 he participated at the Architecture Biennial of Venice. In 2012 he’s been chosen as the curator for the italian month for the Sounds of Europe project. He is founder and curator for the Aural Tools project, a series of multiples who’s aim is to document the work of selected musicians by investigating specific processes (material and conceptual) of sound production. Aural Tools is a series of acoustic devices for relating sound to space, to the listener and to the body in alternative ways than CDs or LPs. Since 2010 he runs The Lift series inside a very small recording studio in Milano ; musicians, sound artists and sound researchers are invited to present their work in an acoustically accurate space.
