엔리코 말라테스타(1985년 생)는 이태리 체세나 출신으로 현대음악과 일렉트로-어쿠스틱, 즉흥음악 분야에서 활동하는 타악기 연주자이다. 그는 체세나의 ‘Bruno Maderna’라는 음악학교에서 클래식 타악기를 공부하며 오케스트라내에서의 연주와 솔로로서의 연주 레파토리를 개발하였다. 또한 타악기의 재질과 음향적은 측면을 연구하여 다양한 현대음악 분야에서 타악기 연주자의 역할을 제고하려고 하였다. 솔로 프로젝트 이외에도 J.Cage, M.Feldman,K. Stockhausen, E. Brown이 작곡한 20세기의 작품들을 연주하며, 다른 타악기 연주자인 Christian Wolfarth, Seijiro Murayama와 자주 협연을 하고 있다. 또한 그는 타악기 앙상블인 ‘Gluck’을 조직하였고 스칸디나비아 등 유럽 여러 곳에서 연주하였다. 같이 협연한 음악가로는 Giuseppe Ielasi, Stefano Pilia, Robin Hayward, Lorenzo Senni, Tristan Honsinger, Philip Corner, Ingar Zach, Burkhard Beins, Urs Leimgruber, Manuel Mota, Eli Keszler, Dominique Vaccaro, Luciano Maggiore, Nikos Veliotis, Franz Hautzinger, Paul Lytton, Matija Schellander, Renato Ciunfrini, Jonas, Kocher, Katsura Yamauchi, Eugene Chadbourne, Michael Vorfeld, Vinko Globokar 등이 있다. 그의 작품은 이태리의 음반 레이블인 Presto!? Records, second sleep, Senufo editions에서 발표되었다. 2007년부터 Cesare Ronconi가 감독으로 있는 ‘TEATRO VALDOCA’라는 극단에서 일하여 Mariangela Gualtieri, Raffaella Giordano and Danio Manfredini와 같이 작업하기도 하였고, 무용가와 시각예술가인 Riccardo Baruzzi와도 자주 협업을 하고 있다. 그는 가르치는 것에 관심이 있어 배우, 음악가, 무용가를 대상으로 한 음향의 디테일과 미세한 다이내믹에 대한 이론/실습 워크샵인 ‘sull’istmo’ 을 개발하여 이태리 여러 곳에서 워크샵을 개최하였다. 또한 그가 사는 곳에서 현대의 음악을 전파하기 위해 공연과 이벤트를 자주 기획하고 있다.
Enrico Malatesta (born in Cesena, Italy, in 1985) is a percussionist active in the field of contemporary, electro-acoustic and improvised music.He studied classical percussion at the “Bruno Maderna” Conservatory in Cesena, delving into both the orchestral and soloist repertoire and his personal activity and research is aimed at the redefinition of the role of the percussionist in different contemporary areas, studying the acoustic dimension and the material quality of percussion instruments. Besides his ongoing solo projects he’s also active performing works from the soloist repertoire of the 20th Century, including graphic scores by J.Cage, M.Feldman,K. Stockhausen,E. Brown. He frequently works with percussionists Christian Wolfarth and Seijiro Murayama, he is founder member of the percussion ensemble ‘Gluck‘ ̈ and also works with musicians like Giuseppe Ielasi, Stefano Pilia, Robin Hayward, Lorenzo Senni, Tristan Honsinger, Philip Corner, Ingar Zach, Burkhard Beins, Urs Leimgruber, Manuel Mota, Eli Keszler, Dominique Vaccaro, Luciano Maggiore, Nikos Veliotis, Franz Hautzinger, Paul Lytton, Matija Schellander, Renato Ciunfrini, JonasKocher, Katsura Yamauchi, Eugene Chadbourne, Michael Vorfeld, Vinko Globokar among others ,and playing concerts in all over Europe and Scandinavia.His work is released by the Italian label Presto!? Records, second sleep, Senufo editions. In 2007 he started working for ‘TEATRO VALDOCA’, a theatre company where under the direction of Cesare Ronconi, he had the chance to work with Mariangela Gualtieri, Raffaella Giordano and Danio Manfredini. He frequently works with dancers and the visual artist Riccardo Baruzzi. He is interested in teaching, he developed “sull’istmo” a theoretical/practical workshop on sonic detail and micro-dynamics, open to actors, musicians and dancers, set up in various locations in Italy. He frequently organizes events and concerts with the purpose to improve the diffusion of contemporary music in his area.
