팀 올리브는 21세기 시작 무렵에 그의 미니멀-프로그레시브-노이즈 락 밴드인 Nimrod를 그만두면서부터 반복적인 리듬과 조화된 음에서 벗어나 즉흥연주와 형식이 없는 음악을 시작하였다. 그는 쇠줄과 마그네틱 픽업, 단순한 아날로그 전자장비를 사용하여 소리가 갖는 가능성을 탐구하였다. 미국, 아시아, 유럽, 호주에서 다양한 연주자들과 공연을 하였고 Katsura Mouri, Alfredo Costa Monteiro, Kelly Churko, Jeffrey Allport, Cal Lyall 등과 꾸준히 협업을 하고 있다. 최근에는 Nick Hoffman, Kawaguchi Takahiro, Jason Kahn, Crys Cole, 진상태, 류한길, 최준용, Tomasz Krakowiak 그리고 Pau Torres과 협연했으며 향후에는 Nick Hoffman, Jason Kahn, Crys Cole, Bryan Day, Horacio Pollard, David Brown, Guilty Connector와 함께 작업한 음반이 발표될 예정이다. 캐나다 출신으로 현재는 일본 고베에 거주하며 최근에 자신의 레이블인 845 Audio를 시작하였다.

Tim Olive has been writing about himself in the third person since the beginning of this century, when he left his minimal-prog-noise-rock band Nimrod, rejecting periodic rhythms and tempered pitch in favor of improvisation and open forms, exploring the full sonic possibilities of steel strings, magnetic pickups and simple analog electronics. Extensive live action in North America, Japan, Europe and Australia has provided opportunities to play with a wide range of musicians in event-specific one-off contexts, as well as ongoing collaborations with Katsura Mouri, Alfredo Costa-Monteiro, Martin Tetreault, Kelly Churko, Jeffrey Allport and others. Recent collaborators include Nick Hoffman, Kawaguchi Takahiro, Jason Kahn, Crys Cole, Jin Sangtae, Ryu Hankil, Choi Joonyong, Tomasz Krakowiak and Pau Torres.A Canadian residing in Kobe, Olive has released CDs on Japanese, European and North American labels, receiving positive reviews in Musicworks, Signal To Noise, The Sound Projector and The Wire magazines. Upcoming releases include recordings with Nick Hoffman, Jason Kahn, Martin Tetreault, Bryan Day and Guilty Connector. He also runs the label 845 Audio.

류한길은 타자기, 시계태엽, 전화기와 같은 버려진 사물들 고유의 진동음을 통해 또 다른 음악적 가능성을 찾는 일에 관심을 두고 있다. 2005년부터 2008년까지 정기 전자즉흥음악회인 RELAY의 기획자, 연주자로서 활동했고 자주출판사인 매뉴얼을 설립했다.타자기를 통한 음악적 가능성을 발견한 이후로 작가 로 위에, 김태용과 함께 협업프로젝트 “A Typist”을 결성하여 텍스트와 사운드 사이의 아직 발견하지 못한 가능성을 찾는 일에 몰두하고 있다. http://themanual.co.kr

Ryu Hankil. musician. born in 1975.He has been interested in find another musical structure depend on abandoned objects likes clockworks, typewriters, telephones and there vibrations.Hankil has organised a monthly event called RELAY since 2005. He established his own publishing office called The Manual.Since he found musical possibilities with typewriter. He start to collaboration with Writers lo wie and Kim Taeyong. This collaboration’s result released by The Manual and Mediabus. 안드레아스 토로보로비치(1980년생)은 비엔나에 활동하고 있는 일렉트로-어쿠스틱 음악가이자 작곡가 및 사운드 아티스트이다. 그는 비엔나와 파리에서 음악학과 현대 재즈를 공부하면서 스톡하우젠과 케이지의 작곡에서의 공간적인 접근에 대한 논문을 발표하였다. 그의 작품에서 그는 테이프와 입력 없는 믹서, 사물들, 가공된 악기와 필드레코딩을 사용한다. 최근에 그는 음향 설치작품과 개념적인 작곡에 집중하고 있다. David Schweighart, Christoph Kurzmann, Fabian Pollack, Michael Bruckner-Weinhuber, Peter Kutin, Lale Rodgarkia, Dara, Daysuke Takaoka, Luis Toto Álvarez와 함께 프로젝트와 협연을 했으며 schraum, Monotype records, Filmarchiv Austria를 통해 음반을 발표하였다.

Andreas Trobollowitsch (born in 1980) is a Vienna based electroacoustic musician, composer and sound artist. He studied musicology and temporarily jazz in Vienna and Paris (thesis about the spatial approach in the compositions of Stockhausen and Cage). In his works he uses mainly tapes, noinputmixer, objects, prepared musical instruments and field recordings. Recently he is focusing on sound installations and conceptual compositions. Projects and collaborations with: Johannes Tröndle (nörz/ackervelvet), David Schweighart (schweighart/trobollowitsch), Christoph Kurzmann, Fabian Pollack, Michael Bruckner-Weinhuber, Peter Kutin, Lale Rodgarkia, Dara, Daysuke Takaoka, Luis Toto Álvarez,…. 바이올린 연주자. 오랫동안 클래식 음악을 전공하고 공부하던 중, 소리에 대한 어떤 염증을 느끼고 어느날 부터 다양한 소리에 귀를 귀울이기 시작. 그 가능성에 대해 호기심을 가지면서 즉흥 연주를 시작하게 되었다. 악기의 기존사용법에 따르지 않아 발생되는 소리나 가공되지 않은 날 것의 소리자체에 흥미를 느끼며 다양한 방법과 연주로 시도중이다.

sehee choi, violinist. She was kind of sick sounds while studying classical music in university and found her way to interests in daily sounds. As she starts looking at all different kinds of music, she is somehow getting into improvisational musics. Raw and new sound itself that has no conventional rules is what she is now trying to look for.

1971년 서울생, 90년대 초반 싱어송라이터로 음악을 시작하여 얼터너티브록에서 부터 미니멀하우스를 포괄하는 6개의 앨범을 발표했고, 사운드트랙, 패션쇼, 현대무용, 연극 등 다양한 장르에서 자신만의 음악적 장치들과 퍼포먼스툴을 이용한 공연들을 선보여왔다. 2005년부터 네덜란드에 거주하며 실험적인 전자악기 연구개발 기관인 스타임(www.steim.nl)에서 하드웨어 엔지니어로 일 하다가 2011년 귀국하여 프리랜서 음악인, 관련하드웨어 연구/계발자로 활동하고 있다. 현 서강대학교 영상대학원 겸임교수로 재직중이다. http://byungjun.pe.kr

KWON Byungjun started his musical career in early 90`s as a singer/songwriter and has released 7 albums ranging from alternative rock to minimal house. He creates music for records, sound tracks, fashion collections, contemporary dance, theatre plays and interdisciplinary events developing his own electronic instruments and performance tools. 노이드(Arnold Haberl)는 오스트리아 비엔나 출신으로 작곡자, 사운드아티스트, 첼로 연주자, 즉흥 연주자이다. 그는 첼로와 수학을 공부하였고 현재는 짤쯔부르크 응용과학대학에서 멀티미디어 아트를 가르치고 있다. 그는 그의 작업을 근원을 탐구하는 연구로 여기며 다양한 모순되는 결과에 이르게 해준다고 생각한다. 첼로 솔로나 테이프 음악에서 앙상블을 위한 작곡이나 전자악기 등을 위한 즉흥 악보와 연주까지, 설치작품에서 비디오나 상상음악까지, 그리고 “ppooll”(http://ppooll.klingt.org) 이라는 소프트웨어 개발 지원 등 그의 모든 작업은 그러한 시각으로 바라볼 수 있다. 그는 다음과 같은 음악가들과 함께 작업했다. 루치아노 마조레(팔레르모 출신, 1980년생)는 이태리 볼로냐에 거주하며 일렉트로-어쿠스틱 음악 분야에서 활동 중이다. 최근 몇 년 동안 그는 스피커와 워크맨, 시디플레이어, 테이프 레코더 등의 아날로그 및 디지털 기기를 사용하여 소리 간섭의 원리를 시도해 보고 있다. 또한 소리의 건축적이고 심리적인 측면에 집중을 하며, 고정된 소리를 통해 거기서 발생하는 역학과 방향성의 가치에 많은 관심을 갖고 있다. 그는 Francesco Brasini, Enrico Malatesta와 지속적으로 협연을 하며 그의 음반들은 Boring Machine, Senufo editions, Tulip records를 통해 발표되었다.

Luciano Maggiore(Palermo 1980) lives and works in Bologna. Active musician in the field of electroacoustic music, in recent years he has developed a strong interest in the mechanisms of sound diffusion, using speakers and several analogue and digital devices (walkmans, CD players, tape recorders) as principal instruments. His interest is focused on the architectural and psychoacoustic as well as dynamic and directional values of sound with a strong emphasis on fixed sounds. He regularly plays in duo with Francesco Brasini and Enrico Malatesta. His works are published by Boring Machines, Senufo editions and Tulip records.

진상태는 1975년 서울에서 태어났다. 류한길, 최준용, 홍철기와 함께 2004년 즉흥음악 공연시리즈 ‘릴레이(RELAY)‘에서 데뷔해 지금까지 전자즉흥음악을 해오고 있다.기본적으로 그는 그의 경험을 바탕으로 사물을 악기화시켜 즉흥음악에 이용하는 작업을 바탕에 두고 있다. 주로 오픈된 하드디스크를 메인악기로 연주하고 있으며 랩탑, AM라디오, 자동차 경적 등을 연주한다. 또한 라디오를 마이크 대신 리시버로 이용해 녹음을 하는 필드레코딩 작업도 진행해오고 있으며 영상작가 최정호와 함께 ‘연주운전’이라는 비디오 작품을 만들기도 했다. 2008년부터는 즉흥음악을 위한 작은 공간 ‘닻올림‘을 만들어 수차례의 공연과 레코딩세션을 기획해왔으며 현재도 진행중이다. 이 공간은 일본의 음악가 오토모 요시히데(Otomo Yoshihide)의 공간 ‘GRID605‘에 영감을 받아 만들었다. 2012년 10월에는 3일간의 즉흥음악 페스티벌 ‘닻올림픽’을 기획하여 성공적으로 마무리 하였다.http://popmusic25.com http://dotolim.com

Jin Sangtae(‘Sangtae’ is given name) was born in Seoul. 1975. in 2003 he was inspired improvised music and noise music. and then he decided to change musical direction. in 2004 he became one of the member of improvised concert series ‘RELAY’ with Ryu Hankil, Hong Chulki and Choi Joonyong. he maintain his works with them. Basically he is interested in instrumentalize, reconstruct of non-instrument material with his experience in lifetime. he has been playing hard drives when he start improvised music. it’s his main instrument with his inspiration when he worked in electronic market in seoul. also he play laptop, radio and car horns. at the same time, he started his field recording works with his am radio. he made works with video artist Choe Jungho name is ‘driving with radio’. since 2008 he made tiny space for improvised music called name ‘dotolim‘ inspired by Otomo Yoshihide’s space ‘GRID605‘ he has been organized several concerts and recording sessions in dotolim. in October 2012, he organized 3days festival for improvised and experimental music called name ‘dotolimpic’ with 30 more artist.http://popmusic25.com http://dotolim.com
