삼킴 saaamkiiim은 해금(김예지), 일렉트로닉스(김대희), 타악기(김선기)로 구성된 일렉트로어쿠스틱 즉흥음악 트리오이다. 그들은 음악의 세 가지 요소인 화성, 선율, 박자를 해체한다. 이렇게 해체된 소리 파편의 변형과 중첩을 통해 다양한 자연현상으로 연주한다. 또한, 그들의 음악은 자기의 소리를 내고, 어떤 소리에 함께 울리는, 우리네 사회 속 관계와 맞닿아 있다. 관계 속에서 개인의 주체성이 겪는 보편적인 경험을 음악으로 풀어내고, 이 보편성이 공연에 함께 하는 청중 한 명 한 명의 특수한 이야기로 공명되고자 한다.

saaamKiiim (formerly known as Sonor Project) is a trio for electroacoustic improvisation comprised of haegeum (Yeji Kim), electronics (Dey Kim), and percussions (Sun Ki Kim). They aim to break down the three components of music — harmony, melody, and rhythm. These dissected sounds are reinterpreted and recombined to be performed as natural phenomenons. In addition, their music resembles the relationships in our society and strives to resonate with the specific story of each one of the audience.

김대희 Dey Kim

김대희는 전자음악가이자 뉴 미디어 아티스트, 그리고 환경 연구자이다. 우리 주변의 숨은 연결을 알아차리는 과정이 지속가능성에 관한 논의의 촉매제가 되리라는 믿음으로, 주로 인간과 미생물의 접점에서 일어나는 일을 소리를 매개로 탐구하고 있다. 아티스트 콜렉티브 ‘모듈라서울’과 프리뮤직 트리오 ‘삼킴’의 일원으로도 활동하고 있다.

Dey Kim is a multifaceted artist, working as a live electronic musician, new media artist, and environmental researcher. With a deep-rooted belief that noticing hidden connections in our surroundings is a catalyst for discussions on sustainability, he delves into the realm of sound as a medium for exploring the interfaces between humanity and microorganisms. He also actively engages in creative endeavors as a member of the artist collective ‘Modular Seoul’ and the free music trio ‘saaamkiiim’.

김선기 Sunki Kim

김선기는 2018년 첫 번째 정규 앨범인 <이상伊桑>을 발매한 후, 동양의 신비주의와 불교의 대중화를 위한 첫 걸음인 불교음악(contemporary buddhist music) 만들기 등 한국인으로서의 정체성을 찾는 과정을 다양한 작품에서 나타내고 있다. 또한, 2020년 발매한 디지털 싱글 에서는 엠비언트와 내레이션을 사용하여 사각지대에 놓인 독거노인, 노숙인 등의 문제를 청자에게 다시 한번 상기시키며 사회 문제에 대한 다양한 시각과 메시지를 전달하려 한다. 

Sunki Kim began his “Yi-Sang,” which was released in 2018, Sunki Kim has shown the process of discovering his identity as a Korean by creating Buddhist music, the first step toward Oriental mysticism and popularization of Buddhism. In addition, the digital single Compassion released in 2020 uses ambient and narration to remind listeners of problems such as elderly people living alone and homeless people in blind spots and to convey various perspectives and messages on social issues.

김예지 Yeji Kim

김예지는 특유의 힘 있는 터치와 섬세한 감성으로 전통은 물론 즉흥음악과 현대음악에 이르기까지 모든 장르를 넘나들며 다양한 시도를 하는 예술가이다. 고등학교, 대학교에서 전통음악을 심도 있게 공부하고 대학 졸업 후 우연히 즉흥연주를 접하게 되면서 소음과 음악의 경계를 고찰하고 음악적으로 풀어내는 활동을 이어가고 있다. 또한 서울대학교 음악대학원 석사 과정, 청주시립국악단 상임단원, 일렉트로어쿠스틱 트리오 삼킴의 멤버로 악기에 대한 연구와 연주 활동을 지속하고 있다.

Yeji Kim is a challenging artist who makes various attempts across all genres, from tradition to improvisation and modern music, with her unique powerful touch and delicate sensibility. Studied traditional music throughout high school and university, and came across improvisation by chance after graduating from college. Since then, she has continued to study the boundaries between noise and music and to apply them through musical expressions.

In addition, she is currently working as a standing member of Cheongju City’s Gugak Orchestra and graduated Master’s degree from Seoul National University Graduate School of Music, focusing on research, and performance activities on musical instruments.
